We started the Junior Golf Scoreboard in May of 1998 right after my son finished his junior career and was headed off to college. It literally began in a storage room that we sublet from a company. With our one phone we called every tournament we could find and began building a database of events for people to find on our website.

As a former junior golf Dad I knew that parents were struggling to learn more about the sport and how to enter tournaments. College coaches had no way to follow the sport nationally and there was very little information about playing the sport or how college recruiting worked. So we began building the Scoreboard with content that we hope would be useful.

My passions include family time with Porter, Christopher and Alison, working as an adult volunteer in youth Ministry, playing golf, and working on issues surrounding conservation and the challenges of climate change.

Anita Schrunk

Senior Staff and Morning Shift

My name is Anita Schrunk, the new kid on the block at Junior Golf Scoreboard. I work morning hours. I graduated cum laude from VCU and my previous work experience was in Marketing and Sales Training at UPS Freight in Richmond where I worked for 14 years. I am an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and I frequent our nearby Blue Ridge Mountains as often as I get a chance. I also enjoy photography and reading. I am a Virginia Tech Hokies fan and love college football.

I enjoy working with all parents and junior golfers, helping them navigate the sport and working to being recruited.

John Hayden

Email Marketing

Hi, I’m John Hayden and I have been with the Junior Golf Scoreboard since 2011. Presently I handle all the email marketing campaigns for our Scoreboard clients.

Prior to coming to the JGS, I worked for 25 years at Dominion – Virginia Power in their Nuclear Training and Nuclear Licensing Departments. I am married and my wife Susie works in a dental office here in Richmond, VA, I have 3 grown children and our dog Rex. I am a member of Hanover CC in Ashland, VA and a Buffalo Bills fan.
